4th of July Fireworks Over Houston, TX

As the nation prepares to show its patriotism this 4th of July, you might wonder what events are happening in and around the Houston area. Fortunately, we have you covered. We’ve compiled a list of the best events happening in Houston for our nation’s Independence Day, and we hope we’ll catch you at one!

Freedom Over Texas Music and Fireworks Festival

A Houston staple, Freedom Over Texas is hosting multiple concerts and festivities, all preceding a grand finale of musically synced fireworks, truly encapsulating the spirit of Texas and the nation. This event has become Houston’s signature July 4th celebration, with an average of 50,000 people in attendance, and is televised live throughout Houston. Freedom Over Texas graciously pledges to donate a percentage of food and beverage sales to the Houston Food Bank, a non-profit charity organization that helps feed people in need around the Houston area.

Country music talent Chris Young, known for his billboard-topping hits in the mid-2010s, will take the stage, accompanied by the sensational 6-time Grammy Nominee and American Music Award winner Yola. They will also be joined by the Soul and R&B band TMF, with their new lead singer, a Houston native, Chris Walker. Freedom Over Texas will be a thrilling afternoon and evening event, beginning at 4:00 pm and ending at 10:00 pm, with the fireworks capping off the night beginning at 9:30 pm.

The event will have parking available for a fee at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts parking garage, located at 800 Bagby Street, 77002, only a 20-minute drive from Our Acorn Meadow Community.

City of Bellaire 4th of July Parade and Festival

Kick off your 4th of July celebrations early at the City of Bellaire 4th of July Parade! Located only 15 minutes from Maxfield Place and 25 minutes from central Houston, Bellaire is hosting its annual Independence Day celebration. The event will take place at approximately 9:00 am, and its route will go down South Rice Ave, stopping at Bellaire Blvd. If you have children, they can join the Children’s Bike Parade for free! They will meet before 9:00 am at the intersection of South Rice Avenue and Evergreen Street. No pre-registration is required; just make sure you arrive early.

After the parade concludes, the festival begins! Lasting until 12:00 pm, the festival will feature live music, carnival games, and food vendors throughout the event. Plenty of parking is available in public lots and neighborhood streets. If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly event, this is the perfect place to celebrate.

Independence Day Spectacular at CITYCENTRE

Come celebrate the 4th of July at CITYCENTRE! From 7:00 to 10:00 pm, this free event will host ‘The After Party,’ a fun-filled event featuring country and pop music. At 9:30 pm, a spectacular fireworks display will begin and last for the remainder of the event. Also, CITYCENTRE restaurants will be open and serving amazing food for the special occasion.

Starting at 4:00 pm, CITYCENTRE garages will be available for parking for a $10 cash-only fee. Due to the expected high attendance at the event, they recommend allowing extra time for parking before and after the event. Luckily, CITYCENTRE is only a 5-minute drive from our Wycliffe Heights community!
